Description:
GENERAL SUMMARYResponsible for identifying and selling Workers' Compensation services to insurance companies, Third Party Administrators (TPAs), and select self-insured employer groups. Attains defined business and revenue goals. Accountable for achieving company defined sales objectives.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
-Identifies and evaluates strategic sales opportunities for Workers's Compensation services within defined region. Makes strategic marketing and sales development recommendations to senior management.
-Develops, maintains and grows relationships with senior strategic key decision makers. Actively engages strategic clients and consultants in meetings and events which lead to increased revenue. Meets with brokers, consultants and strategic clients to ascertain needs, present proposals and achieve targeted close rates. Interfaces with all levels of management to negotiate and influence consensus.
-Develops and implements complex strategic sales plan. Plan should provide sufficient detail to direct daily activity and measure success rates.
-Responds to all client request for information and directs client inquiries to appropriate departments. Manages overall client relationship and coordinates client relationships with other Coventry departments. Coordinates development of customized offerings with Product Development, Pricing, Regulatory, Legal and other internal departments. Ensures compliance with company and state regulatory and policy requirements.
-Attends internal sales meetings and training.
-Majority of time is spent external to place of business on outside sales related to new sales opportunities for Worker's Compensation managed care services.
-Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Master's degree preferred.
- Thorough understanding of a large, complex sales process and advanced sales techniques in a long sales cycle.
- Demonstrated track record of successful sales of benefits products to large complex accounts.
- Significant experience (usually 5-7 years) in health care, managed care and/or insurance industry.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, presentation and communication skills; 100% ethical sales approach; motivated by desire to please customer. Strong analytic and problem-solving abilities.
